We have been running various courses and training for parents to support their children, understand/manage behaviour and control situations within the families. As we all know parents are not born parents sometimes culture, situations and environments bring on the impact of our parenting style.
Through various parenting sessions we have tried to resolve some of these issues, help them understand their children and improve engagement of the parents within their children’s lives. Over 60 parents and extended families attended our various parenting programmes, 9 of which are fathers. All programmes are tailor made to fit purpose and individual situations.
The programme was delivered in partnership with various organisations, Shantona’s staff members, Technorth, the Bangladeshi centre, Parenting unit etc.
The following are some of our parenting sessions:
• Family care trust 5-13
• Family care trust 0-6 years
• Positive parenting
• Strengthening families
• Shantona Family Fusion Parenting Programs
Other courses include:
• ESOL and citizenship - 67 completed the course and applied to remain in the UK to live indefinitely.
• Approximately 150 people approached Shantona to enroll on the course
• Basic Computer - 12 women participated, the course was in partnership with Bankside primary school

Health Project
We provide services to the most hard to reach communities that do not otherwise have access to facilities until they develop severe or serious health problems. This year we have provided services to the community that improve well-being, promotes healthy choices, gives access to health services and ensures equality in local society.
